Aims and beliefs

We believe the Christian Gospel

The message at the heart of Christianity is really quite simple - simple enough to be outlined in just a few pages. It is a message from the Bible about God and his son, Jesus. It is about life and death, and the choice that we all face.

If you have questions, or want to talk further about Christianity, get in touch. You can meet up with someone over a cup of coffee, or in one of our exploring Christianity groups.

Doctrinal Basis

Evangelical Students holds firmly to these fundamental truths of the Christian faith:
1.  The Divine Inspiration and infallibility of the Holy Scripture as originally given and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2.  The Unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
3.  The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall, rendering humanity subject to God's wrath and condemnation.
4.  Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death, as our Representative and Substitute, of  Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
5.  The conception of Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and His birth of the Virgin Mary.
6.  The bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead.
7.  The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective in the individual sinner, granting that person repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
8.  The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
9.  The expectation of the personal return of Jesus Christ.
We are an inter-denominational Christian group and therefore only insist on these core elements of biblical Christian belief for formal membership in our club (e.g. to participate as a leader).

All of our club events and conferences are open to all uni students regardless of your beliefs!

Our aims

Evangelical Students runs many different activities and events. Everything we do seeks to further one or more of our three aims:

1.

2.

3.

Live

Personal growth in godliness

Tell

In three words, ES aims for all it's members to know, live and tell the gospel of Jesus.

Some of the key things we do are evangelism, Bible study, prayer, training, camps, conferences and social events.
